Welcome to my website. My name is Galena and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Gainesville, Florida. I believe that each one of us is capable of feeling and living better. I believe that we all want to be understood, accepted, and valued. I believe that creating an environment of safety, free of judgment, filled with compassion, yields a healing respite in which clients may be themselves, grow, and learn to thrive. I am committed to meeting each client where they are while being authentically myself. With a little humor and a lot of empathy, we can do great work together.

My educational background includes earning a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago (1995), followed by a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology Chicago (2001). I have worked in private practice and community mental health, conducted psychotherapy with adult individuals, couples, and groups. No issue is too heavy or too small. Self-care is not a race. There is no prize at the end for suffering in silence. You matter.
